Ventura Alloy and Steels Supplies and Stocks AISI H11 tool steel is a 5% chromium hot work tool steel that is represented by its excellent impact toughness. Chromium hot-work tool steels are designated as group H steels according to the AISI classification system, and specified in ASTM A681 standard. The most commonly used chromium hot-work steels are H11 tool steel, H12 tool steel, and H13 steel, within the series from H1 to H19.
If we compare between H11 and H13, H11 tool steel consists of less vanadium than the commonly used H13 hot work tool steel. H11 tool steel is a deep-hardening, air-hardening steel and H11 alloy steel could be deep hardened by heat treatment and air-quenching. That gives minimal size change during heat treatment. H11 how work steel also has super resistance to thermal fatigue cracking and superb resistance to gross cracking and thermal shock when water cooled in service.
H11 steel is inclusive of all hot work tool steel with excellent rigidity and durability along with great thermal conductivity and invulnerability to hot cracking and can be water cooled to a constrained degree. H11 is primarily used for apparatus holders, ejector pins and shrink fit chucks.

H12 Hot Work Die Steel could be a five-hitter Cr, general hot work steel that is characterized by wonderful effect strength. It contains less vanadium than the broadly utilized H13 hot work tool steel, and furthermore the tungsten content gives higher temper resistance. It has smart resistance to thermal fatigue cracking (heat checking) and excellent resistance to gross cracking and thermal shock once water cooled in commission. TLS H12 hot work tool steel is normally prescribed for warm tooling applications wherever most resistance from cracking is required. Such applications grasp die casting, hot punches, hot shear cutting edges, shaping dies, extrusion tooling and hot gripper dies.

VENTURA EN47 Chromium Vanadium type spring steel supplied in the as rolled condition as well as spheroidized annealed condition. EN47 is suitable for oil hardening and tempering. When used in the oil hardened and tempered condition EN47 spring steel combines spring characteristics with good wear and abrasion resistance. When hardened EN47 offers excellent toughness and shock resistance which make it a suitable alloy spring steel for parts exposed to stress, shock and vibration.
Applications:
En47 steels, highlight the advantage is good hardenability, another hot working performance, comprehensive mechanical properties, decarburization resistance is also good big cross section of various important spring, such as automobile, locomotive, large plate spring, spring, etc. SUP10 Spring main used for heavy vehicles, tractors, industrial production load, stress and the diameter of the larger plate spring and helical spring. It is also used widely in the motor vehicle industry and many general engineering applications. Suitable for applications that require high tensile strength and toughness. Typical applications include crankshafts, steering knuckles, gears, spindles and pumps.
Forging:
Forge at 1050°C. Do not work this steel when it has fallen below 840°C.
Annealing:
Heat slowly to 820-840°C, soak well. Cool slowly in the furnace.
( Our annealing is done in electric furnace to avoid decarburization. )
Hardening:
Pre heat slowly to 650/700°C and thoroughly soak. Continue heating to the final hardening temperature of 830/860°C and allow the component to be heated through. Quench in oil.
Tempering:
Temper the EN47 spring steel component immediately after quenching whilst tools are still hand warm. Re-heat to the tempering temperature then soak for one hour per 25 millimetre of total thickness (2 hours minimum) Cool in air. For most applications tempering of this grade will be between 400-600°C.
Heat Treatment:
Heat treatment temperatures, including rate of heating, cooling and soaking times etc. will vary due to factors such as the shape and size of each component. Other considerations during the heat treatment process include the type of furnace, quenching medium and workpiece transfer facilities. Please consult your heat treatment provider for full guidance on heat treatment of EN47.

This gives H11 steels the higher toughness, with some reduction in wear resistance and tamper resistance.
H11 is primarily used for apparatus holders ,ejector pins and shrink fit chucks.
Steel Properties:
Application:
This grade isn't utilized for typical applications in the area of hot-work steels, yet additionally useful for tool holders, bridge kind tools, ejector pins, liner holders, hot work punches, forging dies, and shrink work chucks.
